Carey, a former high fashion model, who measures at almost 5'10", was popular with American fashion designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father, who was a renowned scientist, who was awarded the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists' 1979 Scientist of the Year prize, is an accomplished scientist. As a result of his work, Carey grew up all around the world. While she attended an institution called the University of Colorado, Carey began modeling on the side.
