
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His breakout role was Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in the television series Magnum. (1980-1988), for whom the actor was nominated five times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in a Drama Series. He won in 1985. Since the year 2010, Selleck has appeared in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine television movies inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels in which he portrayed Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town chief of police, which began in 2005. Selleck also starred in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 films and TV shows, including the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He was a regular TV actor on the show playing Monica Geller's lover Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming, ignorant partner, on The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner. He also played a lead role in the western television film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and endorser of advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
